2 people found this helpful. The 1 1mm nib offers the consumer the opportunity to add a splash of calligraphy to their writing. I purchased the lamy joy in 1 1 and 1 5 nibs. The black is really shiny with just the red too on the end i wish i d gone for white now.

It s priced higher than the lamy safari by a few dollars but it s still under usd 30. If you don t have a lamy safari 1 5 you should consider it as a purchase also. I changed nib with a 1 1 and i felt more comfortable. The italics nib is normally found on lamy joy pens but i just bought a spare and shoved it on the new nib unit for my orange lamy safari. The pilot parallel pens which are also calligraphy pens are slightly cheaper. The regular nibs are boring and the 1 5 that came with my lamy joy took up too many pages during each lecture nearly twice as much.
