Aphrodite is a hybrid between our native calycanthus and the asian species xsinocalycanthus. Very similar to its cousin calycanthus floridus.

This species is a more prolific fruiter and thus is easier to gather seed from encouraging more plants to be grown. Floridus eastern sweetshrub. Nice specimen plant or in mass for a hedge. Proven winners selections are trialed and tested to be colorful long blooming carefree and easy to grow.

Calycanthus fertilis is somewhat smaller only reaching 5 7 it also features more abundant yet less fragrant wine colored blooms. Calycanthus require very little maintenance once established.
